F.N.B. Reports Net Income of $30.74 Million
Tuesday, October 23, 2012HERMITAGE, Pa. -- F.N.B. Corp. parent of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, Monday reported third-quarter net income of $30.7 million, or 22 cents per share.
This compares to second-quarter net income of $29.13 million, or 21 cents per share, and third-quarter 2011 net income of $23.77 million, or 19 cents per share.

Brown Urges Americans to 'Wear American'

Sherrod Brown used a small shop that specializes in selling items and apparel with a Youngstown theme as a backdrop Monday to urge passage of his Wear American Act, a bill that would require that the federal government buy textiles and products from American manufacturers.
"Every time there's tax dollars involved, it ought to be made in the United States of America, period," said Brown, a Democrat from Lorain who is running for re-election in November against Republican challenger Josh Mandel, Ohio's treasurer.
Ohio Launches Energy Industry Jobs Website

Warren Schools Superintendent to Address Chamber
Tuesday, October 23, 2012WARREN, Ohio -- Michael Notar, new superintendent of Warren City Schools, will speak at the fall Good Morning Warren breakfast of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber Nov. 2 at The Raymond John Wean Foundation, Courthouse Square.
Notar will give an update on Warren schools and what the remainder of the year holds.
Notar was selected as superintendent in July after serving as business manager and principal at Harding High School the last two years. He also has taught and been a principal and superintendent more than 20 years in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties.

Sales of Houses Up 5.6% in September Across Ohio
Monday, October 22, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sales of houses throughout Ohio increased 5.6% in September, helping the market record its 15th consecutive monthly sales gain. Sales of new and existing houses posted a 12% increase during the first nine months of this year compared to the same period a year ago, reaching 84,582 sales.
