Shares of F.N.B., parent of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, closed at $10.71 Tuesday, up 3 cents, on a volume of 1,128,569.
Trumbull’s Hotel Market Grows Along 2 Strips
Wednesday, October 24, 2012NILES, Ohio -- More hotel space may be going up along the Route 46 corridor in Niles and Howland, but Liberty Township remains a vibrant location for the hospitality industry in Trumbull County, business and political leaders say.
At the Eastwood Mall Complex here, construction is well under way on the 103-suite Residence Inn by Marriott hotel and banquet hall designed to seat 1,000 guests. It will be attached to the mall itself, says Joe Bell, a spokesman for the mall complex and the Cafaro Co., which owns it.
YSU Seeks $950,000 for Veterans Resource Center
Wednesday, October 24, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown State University is launching the public phase of a $1.25 million fundraising campaign to build a veterans resource center on Wick Avenue.
The center would help military veterans and service members make the transition to academic life and succeed as university students.
The campaign has raised $300,000 in donations and pledges, leaving $950,000.

Environmental Groups Seek Fracking Fluids Disclosure
Wednesday, October 24, 2012WASHINGTON -- The Environmental Integrity Project will be joined by 16 other organizations today in submitting a petition to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency asking the agency to include the oil and gas extraction industry --including hydraulic fracturing-- in its Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reporting requirements.
The petition is scheduled to be filed this afternoon, according to an announcement from the Environmental Integrity Project.
Unemployment Rates Drop Across the Mahoning Valley
Tuesday, October 23, 2012YOUNGSTOWN,Ohio -- The unemployment rate in the city of Youngstown dropped half a percentage point, from 9.4% in August to 8.9% in September, and was down from 11.7% a year earlier. Warren's unemployment rate improved to 9.3% in September from 9.6% in August, and was down from 10.3% in September 2011, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported today.
F.N.B. Enters Maryland, Merges with Annapolis Bank

Corp., parent of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, and Annapolis Bancorp Inc., parent of BankAnnapolis, announced Monday that they have signed a definitive agreement to merge. Value of the purchase, all in F.N.B. stock, is $51 million, the parties said.
F.N.B. has assets of $11.8 billion at Sept. 30 while Annapolis Bancorp, founded in 1988, has assets of $437 million.
Walmart's Liberty Township Store Goes Solar

But from the roof, the more than 2,000 solar panels being installed there makes this particular store part of a select number of Walmarts across the country that have gone green.
"I don't believe there's a solar array in this Valley that is this large," said David Dickey, president of Joe Dickey Electric, North Lima.
