Trumbull Mobile Meals Honors Volunteers for Service
Wednesday, November 19, 2014WARREN, Ohio -- Trumbull Mobile Meals recently held its annual volunteer recognition luncheon, “Reinventing the (Meals on) Wheels,” at Packard Music Hall where recipients of the Marcia S. Schneider Volunteer of the Year Award were Phyllis Sprankle of Newton Falls, Ed Bellin of Warren and Linda Amadei of Howland.
All have volunteered five or more years, went above and beyond what’s asked of them and performed special services for the subscribers and/or Mobile Meals, said CEO Sandra Mathews.
YSU Seniors Display Work at McDonough Museum
Wednesday, November 19, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Works by 18 Youngstown State University students who graduate next month with a baccalaureate in fine arts are featured in the Fall Graduating BFA Show at the McDonough Museum of Art on the YSU campus.
The McDonough will hold a reception for the artists from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and the exhibit runs through Dec. 13.

92% of Thanksgiving Travel Will Be by Car
Tuesday, November 18, 2014WASHINGTON -- When Americans hit the road this year for Thanksgiving family gatherings, 31% will travel more than 500 miles, says a survey by GasBuddy.com released Monday. Another 31% will travel between 200 and 500 miles.
This year, 92% will drive compared with 6.5% who fly. While Americans are spending on travel, 71% of survey respondents expect to spend less on Thanksgiving this year.
Things Remembered Center Holding Hiring Events Today
Monday, November 17, 2014NORTH JACKSON, Ohio -- The Things Remembered Fulfillment and Distribution Center at 500 S. Bailey Road will hold an on-site job fair today to fill more than 200 seasonal positions. The job fair, one of two recruitment events taking place today, will run from 5 to 7 p.m.
Positions sought include engravers, embroidery machine operators, quality control and packing, and customer service.
