Friday, November 07, 2014HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, capping off a year in which it studied social service organizations, last night recognized Michael Wright, president and CEO of the Shenango Valley Urban League, as its Person of the Year.
Wright is “a shining example of that kind of commitment to making this a better place to be,” said Robert McCracken, executive director of the Shenango Valley Chamber. The chamber held its annual meeting at the Avalon Golf & Country Club @ Buhl Park.
Covelli Restaurants to Again Offer Free Meals to Veterans
Wednesday, November 05, 2014WARREN, Ohio -- Covelli Enterprises will offer service members on active duty and military veterans free meals at its Panera Bread and O’Charley’s restaurants in the Mahoning Valley on Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
At Panera Bread, any veteran or service member will receive a free You-Pick-Two meal. A free $9.99 entrée is offered to veterans and military personnel at Covelli’s O’Charley’s restaurants in Boardman and Niles. All they need is to wear their uniforms or show their military I.D.
Crain's Cleveland Names Farmers to 'Fast 50' List
Tuesday, November 04, 2014CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Crain’s Cleveland Business has named Farmers National Bank to its “Fast 50” list of successful companies, the bank announced this morning.
To develop the list, Crain’s partnered with independent accounting and business advisory firm Apple Growth Partners to review financial records for companies headquartered in northeastern Ohio. Crain’s then ranked the 50 fastest-growing companies by revenue between 2009 and 2013. The publication stated it was looking for an established record of continuous growth.
Tod Family Dedicates Columbarium Garden
Monday, November 03, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Sallie Tod Dutton and David Tod cut the ribbon at Tod Homestead Cemetery Friday to mark the dedication of the new columbarium memorial garden that will accommodate the cremation remains of more than 900 people.
The two are great-great-grandchildren of David Tod, Ohio’s Civil War governor, whose rolling North Side homestead was dedicated in 1908 as a cemetery through the will of Gov. Tod’s son, George Tod.
