White House Seeks Designs for 3-D Printed Ornaments

WASHINGTON – The White House, in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution and Instructibles, is inviting makers and innovators around the country to participate in the first-ever 3D-Printed Ornament Challenge.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The family of former U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant Jr. announced Wednesday a public memorial will be held Nov. 30 celebrating the former congressman and sheriff’s life and accomplishments.
The event, A Celebration of the Life & Accomplishments of James A. Traficant Jr., will take place at 2 p.m. at the DeYor Performing Arts Centre’s Edward W. Powers Auditorium, according to a posting on Facebook. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. the day of the event.

BOARDMAN, Ohio -- As it celebrated its 35th anniversary, the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corp. honored The Business Journal and its publisher, Andrea Wood.
Founded in 1984, The Business Journal was recognized as “Mahoning Valley Business of the Year.” The publication, which was originally known as the Youngstown Business Journal, was created to change the narrative of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley in the wake of the steel shutdowns that began in the mid-1970s, Wood recalled.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The International Traffic in Arms Regulations/Export Administration Regulations Program, sponsored by the International Trade Assistance Center at Youngstown State University, is set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5.
Robert Imbriani, whom YSU describes as “an expert on export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, the Export Administration Regulations and other U.S. export control laws and regulations,” will present the program.
OEPA to Hear Concerns about Odors in Ashtabula

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will hold a community meeting at 6 p.m. today to update residents of Ashtabula residents about its efforts to identify and eliminate nuisance odors that originate from the Detrex Corp. property.
The meeting will be held in the Blue and Gold Room of the Kent State University Ashtabula Campus.
Over the last several years, local officials and Ohio EPA have received many complaints from residents and businesses near the company about the odors that it produces.
