Neomed, Cleveland VA Center to Coordinate Research
Wednesday, February 11, 2015ROOTSTOWN, Ohio -- Northeast Ohio Medical University and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center have signed a memorandum of understanding that outlines a plan for coordination and collaboration on projects of mutual interest.
The memorandum will help both institutions improve the health status of veterans through an established research affiliation, the university said.
Local Health Foundations Seek Proposals for Grants
Monday, February 09, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Western Reserve Health Foundation and the Western Reserve Health Foundation are welcoming grant proposals for "innovative programs" that serve health needs in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
The foundations, which are affiliates of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, have set deadlines of Friday, Feb. 27, for initial letters of inquiry. The required forms and more information about funding priorities are available at the WRHF and TMHF sections of the Community Foundation website.
Canfield City, Township Advance JEDD for Project
Friday, February 06, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Canfield Mayor Bernie Kosar Sr. expects his City Council and the Canfield Township Board of Trustees to each hold meetings Wednesday to approve a proposed agreement between the entities that would allow Windsor House Inc. to move forward on construction of a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in the township.
The city and township have a “tentative agreement” to establish a Joint Economic Development District at the site of the proposed 72-bed center that both entities will have to formally approve, Kosar said this morning.

“Even if your information has been compromised, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be the victim of identity theft, but it is important to monitor your accounts and check your mail,” he warns. “The sooner you detect a problem, the easier it will be to correct.”
Prima Plans ’16 Opening for Beaver Township Campus
Wednesday, February 04, 2015YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Prima Health Care’s new campus in Beaver Township will accommodate continued growth by the company, its president, Nick DeMaiolo, says.
Prima Health Care is targeting “early 2016” to complete construction of the two-story building, which DeMaiolo acknowledges is a “moving target” given northeastern Ohio weather.
