Butler Institute to Hold Open House Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Butler Institute of American Art will host a holiday open house and open a new exhibit with a meet-the-artist event Sunday.
The holiday open house, which runs from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, will feature a tour of the museum’s permanent collection led by Dr. Lou Zona, the museum’s director. The museum is also decorated for the holidays, and visitors that day will also be offered a discount for purchases in the museum’s gift shop and fine art sales gallery.
Lamberson Receives AIA's Eastern Ohio Gold Medal

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Eastern Ohio Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recently presented Rodney Lamberson, an architect with Strollo Architects, with the AIA Eastern Ohio Gold Medal.
The recognition is presented to chapter members who have, over an extended period, provided outstanding service to the chapter, the profession and community.
Lamberson is a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects and is a member of the Academy of Architecture for Healthcare as well as AIA Eastern Ohio.
Wean Foundation Celebrates Partners' Accomplishments

WARREN, Ohio -- The Raymond John Wean Foundation last night convened its strategic partners in the Mahoning Valley – the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative, Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. and Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership -- to celebrate their collaborative work and share the vision of the partnership with board members, staff and employees.
Ohio Sets Webinars to Link Business with Buyers

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Development Services Agency is hosting five webinars to provide Ohio companies the tools they need to secure contracts with some of the largest businesses in the state, which provide goods and services to the federal government.
“This webinar series will educate Ohio businesses on the procurement process and will help them develop contacts with large companies,” said David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency.
Aviation Museum Event to Honor Howland WWII Pilot

WARREN, Ohio -- Donald R. Freer, a World War II veteran and former prisoner of war, will be honored Dec. 5 at the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum. The event, which will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner and remarks at 7 p.m., will mark the 70th anniversary of Freer’s survival after he was shot down in combat over Berlin.
Some 40 friends and family members are expected to attend the event, which is being hosted by the aviation museum.
