Ohio Business Filings Show Gains in May
Tuesday, June 18, 2013COLUMBUS, Ohio -- New business flings last month were up 7% from a year earlier, state Secretary of State Jon Husted reports. In May, 8,229 new entities filed to do business in Ohio, up from the 7,687 that filed to do business in May 2012.
Through May, Husted’s office assisted with 40,733 new business filing, up from 39,252 filings though the first five months of 2012, the office reported. The office is the first stop for individuals and companies who want to file and start a business in Ohio.

Shale Well Impact Fees Generate $406M for Pa.
Monday, June 17, 2013HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania Act 13 has generated more than $202 million through an impact fee assessed on unconventional wells drilled in 2012, the state treasury department reports.
The state also collected more than $204 million last fall, bringing the total to more than $406 million in less than eight months, with the majority of the revenues going to local communities.
