Area Leaders to Hear 'What Matters to Metros'
WARREN, Ohio Mahoning Valley civic, community and business leaders are invited to attend a presentation and discussion to be held Thursday at the Davis Center in Mill Creek MetroParks about the recently released What Matters to Metros™ economic research. Undertaken by the Fund for Our Economic Future, a collaboration of private and corporate foundations seeking to improve the economic competitiveness of northeast Ohio, the research looked at factors associated with economic growth in 115 mid-sized U.S. metropolitan areas in a post-recession economy.
“This research has specific implications for the Mahoning Valley,” says Jeffrey Glebocki, president of The Raymond J. Wean Foundation, a co-sponsor of the event. “This is a unique opportunity for community leaders to learn about what these findings tell us about the Youngstown/Warren area.”
What Matters to Metros™ and the data from the study are available for download at www.whatmatterstometros.org.
The event will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Reservations are still being accepted for the session. Anyone interested in participating can register online at www.rjweanfdn.org/EventRegistration.aspx
Valley residents can also engage in the local conversation online at www.theciviccommons.com/whatmatters.
In addition to The Raymond J. Wean Foundation, the presentation is co-sponsored by The Trumbull 100, The Youngstown Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.
