Library Sets Meetings on Strategic Plan
Friday, August 16, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Mahoning Valley residents are invited to share their thoughts on the direction of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County at one of three upcoming meetings next week.
A new strategic plan, My Library 2020, is expected to be completed by the end of this year and cover 2014 to 2020. Earlier this year, more than 2,000 residents submitted their thoughts on the library. In addition, small group community conversations were held throughout Mahoning County.

Tax Panel Weighs How to Boost Minority Hiring

The panel meets annually to review the extent companies are complying with their agreements to hire residents, women and minorities in return for abatements and other tax breaks.

AT&T Expands 4G LTE Network to Mahoning Valley

Avalon Reports 2Q Net Income of $500,000
Thursday, August 15, 2013WARREN, Ohio -- Avalon Holdings Corp., Howland Township, reports net income of $500,000, or 12 cents per share, for the second quarter and first-half net income of $300,000, or 8 cents per share.
In comparison, second-quarter 2012 net income was $300,000, or 7 cents per share but a net loss of $100,000 or 3 cents a share for the first half of 2012.
