Sales of Residences in Ohio Jump in July
Thursday, August 22, 2013COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The number of residences sold across Ohio surged 25.8% in July as the market posted year-over-year gains for the 25th consecutive month, the Ohio Association of Realtors reported Wednesday.
In the region that encompasses Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, the number sold posted a 23.5% gain.

Community Center Tops CommunIT Balloting
Thursday, August 22, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- United Methodist Community Center in Warren topped the list of vote getters in online balloting for the CommunIT Tech Giveaway, sponsored by DRS LLC and Palo Creative. The community center received 151,508 votes before polling closed Aug. 18.
Placing second in the voting was Gateways to Better Living in Youngstown with 118,077 votes. Rounding out the list are the Youngstown Business Incubator (116,856), the Girard Multigenerational Center (70,733), and Beatitude House (51,329). A total 582,769 votes were cast.
Goodwill, Sunnking Team Up for Electronics Recycling
Thursday, August 22, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has teamed up with Sunnking Inc. to expand Goodwill's recycling program, Mike McBride announced Wednesday.
McBride is the executive director of Goodwill.
Under their agreement, Goodwill provides a free drop-off program for consumers and businesses that want to responsibly recycle their electronics and Sunnking performs the recycling.

F.N.B. Corp. Declares 12-Cent Cash Dividend
Wednesday, August 21, 2013HERMITAGE, Pa. – Directors of F.N.B. Corp., parent of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, have declared a quarterly cash dividend of 12 cents per common share payable Sept. 15 to shareholders of record Sept. 3, the company announced Wednesday.
The company has 145.17 million shares outstanding.
Shares closed yesterday at $12.61, down 18 cents from Tuesday’s close, on a volume of 291,815, roughly 54% of its average daily volume of 540,548 shares.

Wednesday, August 21, 2013LOWELLVILLE, Ohio -- Savanna Springs Water Solutions has acquired the bottled water operations of Gordon Brothers of Salem, Stephen J. Procick announced Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.
Procick is the owner of Savanna Springs. His company has enjoyed steady growth since it was founded in 2009, Procick says. The acquisition of Gordon Brothers, he said, will significantly increase the company’s customer base and market share in the Mahoning Valley.
'This Is Titletown' Documentary Seeks Backers

The film will showcase the Youngstown-Warren region and the great boxers it has produced, he says.
New JA Program Targets Workforce Skills Gap

The program was underwritten by a $1.1 million grant from Accenture and reflects the company's Skills to Succeed initiative that by 2015 aims to equip 500,000 people around the world with the skills they need to get a job or build a business.
