Cement Masons Accepting Applications for New Class
Friday, July 20, 2012VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties Cement Masons Joint Apprenticeship Program will accept applications for a class of Cement Masons next month. An aptitude test will be administered at the time of application.
Applications will be accepted at the office of the Joint Apprenticeship Committee located in the offices of the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio & Western Pennsylvania on State Route 193 here.

Tuition Increases at Eastern Gateway Community College
Tuesday, July 17, 2012STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Tuition will increase by $6 per credit hour in the fall semester at Eastern Gateway Community College. The increase means students in the Youngstown City Schools Early College will pay $108 per semester.

Monday, July 16, 2012STEUBENVILLE – Dr. Laura Meeks will remain as president of Eastern Gateway Community College through June 2014 following action Friday by the school’s board of trustees to extend her employment contract.
“The board is working toward the long-term success of the institution. That’s our first priority,” said John Gilmore, board chairman, in a prepared statement. “The trustees acknowledged the fact that the institution will undergo significant transition in board and presidential leadership.
Consumers to Spend More on Back-to-School

By comparison, last year only 13% said they planned to spend more, and these data were reflected in a disappointing back-to-school season in 2011.
Paterno Column Published; Freeh to Issue Report
Thursday, July 12, 2012STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The family of the late Joe Paterno has released the text of a column they say he wrote less than a month before his death in January. The release comes former FBI Director Louis Freeh is expected to release this morning the findings of his independent investigation into how Penn State University handled that former defensive football coach Jerry Sandusky committed child sex abuse on university property.
