Port Authority Joins with Rail, River Groups

VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The Western Reserve Port Authority Wednesday approved a contract with a rail advocacy group to conduct a study of rail infrastructure improvements aimed at assisting the growing oil and gas industry and attracting other companies with an interest in rail.
Regional Chamber Touts Positive News Coverage

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- “This statement is not an exaggeration: The Youngstown-Warren area has become the darling of the national/international news media,” states the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber in its email newsletter to members.” On nearly a daily basis, the Regional Chamber fields calls and emails from U.S. and foreign news outlets interested in visiting the Valley to do a ‘comeback kid’ story about the Valley's rebirth.”

City to Consider Float Loan to Valley Foods
Monday, February 13, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- City Council will consider a $233,000 float loan at its meeting tomorrow night to Valley Foods Inc. to support its acquisition and renovation of the former Weatherbee Coat Factory building downtown.
Demolition work began last year on the building, where Valley Foods plans to expand its operations, and where the company is renovating about 11,000 square feet of space. Valley Foods is headquartered on East Boardman Street, near the Weatherbee site.
State Releases Clean Ohio Funds for Niles Site
Monday, February 13, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The State Controlling Board has approved the release of $292,628 from the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund for a Phase II environmental assessment on the site of the former Republic Steel in Niles.
The city of Niles and the property owner, BR Property Group, are in the process of redeveloping the property to assist with the expansion of BRT Extrusions, Inc. The project is expected to create 20 jobs
