Ohio 'StartUp' Bus Coming to Business Incubator

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngstown Business Incubator will host one of 10 so-called "StartUp" buses March 6 as it makes its way to the South By Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas.
StartupBus describes itself as an "invitation-only community of hackers, hustlers and hipster passionate about startups. We are best known for our annual competition where we bring new people into our community, by doing a hackathon on a bus that’s traveling 60 miles an hour towards Austin in time for SxSW."

Stories highlighting the Youngstown-Warren area's economic resurgence could be found in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, U.S. News and World Report, Forbes magazine, Bloomberg News Service, National Public Radio, Fox News and CNN Money, the chamber said.
Ohio Shale Coalition Study: 65,680 New Jobs by 2014

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The rapidly developing shale industry will contribute $4.86 billion to Ohio’s gross state product and 65,680 jobs to the state’s workforce in 2014, estimates an economic study sponsored by the Ohio Shale Coalition.
The study, released Tuesday, estimates a $9.6 billion output of oil and gas production in 2014 compared to the $1.67 billion output it estimates for 2012 and the $292 million output it recorded for 2011.
Taylor, Kvamme, Exterran VP to Attend Youngstown Plant Groundbreaking

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor will join local officials and representatives of Exterran Energy Solutions LC for a groundbreaking event at the site of the company’s new plant Tuesday.
Daniel Schlanger, Exterran senior vice president, and Mark Kvamme, JobsOhio president and interim chief executive officer, will also be on hand for the press event, set to take place just before noon. The ground-breaking will kick off construction of Exterran’s 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in the Salt Springs Road Industrial Park.
