Columbiana Port Authority Eyes Headquarters Fix Up

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- While it’s a bit early for spring cleaning, the Columbiana County Port Authority is looking at fixing up its home office at 1250 St. George Street.
Nationwide Housing Starts Best Since April 2010

WASHINGTON -- Building on significant upward revisions to numbers for the previous two months, nationwide production of new single-family homes and apartments increased 1.5% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of nearly 700,000 units in January. Together with the upwardly revised numbers for December 2011, this is the best pace of single-family starts since April of 2010.
Manufacturers Coalition Seeks More Members

CANFIELD, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition held an informational session Friday to build its membership and enthusiasm for its mission. About 70 individuals attended the event – which was held at the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center -- including representatives of area manufacturers, local bankers, educators and state legislators.
Land Swap Benefits Neighborhood, Businessman

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The city will take possession of about a dozen properties on Oak Hill Avenue on the South Side, under an agreement approved Thursday morning by its Board of Control.
The release and settlement agreement calls for the city to take over the properties, located between St. Patrick Church and Tri-County Beverage on Oak Hill, from businessman Hasper Leggett. In return, Leggett would receive five acres of a 21-acre former LTV Steel site at the Center Street Bridge heading toward Campbell.
Name Change Grounded at Regional Airport?

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The board that operates the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport likely won't be moving forward anytime soon on a proposal to change the airport's name.
"I don’t anticipate there will be any discussion in the immediate future about the name change," said Scott Lewis, vice chairman of the Western Reserve Port Authority, which operates the Vienna Township airport.
