Shell, Williams Launch Midstream Venture in Utica
Saturday, April 13, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Add yet another multimillion-dollar midstream project to the portfolio of oil and gas processing systems targeting the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.
Three Rivers Midstream, a joint venture between Tulsa-based Williams Partners L.P. and Royal Dutch Shell, says it will develop new infrastructure in northwestern Pennsylvania that includes an initial capital investment to build $150 million cryogenic gas plant capable of processing 200 million cubic feet per day.
Chesapeake Markets Acres in Stark, Portage Counties
Wednesday, April 10, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Chesapeake Energy Corp., the largest driller in Ohio's Utica shale, is looking to sell more than 94,000 net leasehold acres in Stark and Portage counties.
According to a listing posted on Meagher Energy Partner's website Tuesday, Chesapeake wants to unload 94,205 net acres in what is generally thought of as the "oil window" of the Utica play.
The sale includes three wells, two of which Chesapeake operates, the listing said. Details on the site describe the acreage as having good organic compound and low water saturations.
Halcon Gets Permits for Wells in Mahoning, Mercer
Wednesday, April 10, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Halcon Operating Co., a division of Halcon Resources, has secured a permit to drill a new horizontal well in Jackson Township in Mahoning County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Halcon, which is also developing wells in nearby Lordstown Township in Trumbull County, was awarded the permit on April 4 to drill on the Davidson property.
