Chesapeake Prepares for Utica Ramp Up in 2013
Monday, April 01, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Chesapeake Energy Corp. forecasts that completions of new wells will accelerate in the Utica shale, while production could nearly double from its now-operating wells once new processing plants come online by the end of this year.

Friday, March 29, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A report issued by the Ohio Oil and Gas Association shows that nearly 670 miles of wells were drilled across Ohio last year, and its likely that number will be even higher in 2013 as the Utica shale is further developed.
"I think the activity is going to slowly and steadily increase with success," observed Peter MacKenzie, director of operations for the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, who presented the findings at the organization's recent annual winter meeting in Columbus.

“It’s important that we don’t put bull's eyes on our foreheads when somebody does it incorrectly,” said Scott Nally, Ohio EPA director, who headlined a breakfast program Monday hosted by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Government Affairs Council.
