D&L Energy Nears Start of North Lima Injection Well
Tuesday, October 09, 2012NORTH LIMA, Ohio – By the end of this year, wastewater trucked from drill sites in Ohio and Pennsylvania could once again be injected into storage wells in the Mahoning Valley, a prospect that doesn't sit well with activists here.
"From a mechanical perspective, the well will be done before Halloween," said Vince Bevacqua, spokesman for D&L Energy, the Youngstown company that drilled the well here last year.
Manufacturers Coalition Sets Priorities for Second Year
Tuesday, October 09, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Nearly all of the members of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition have job openings now, and "could continue to expand at a faster rate if they had the right person for the job," the coalition's executive director says.
The coalition, formally organized a year ago, is preparing to mark its first year of existence this month, which is also Ohio Manufacturing Month. The group was formed to address the “critical workforce skills shortage” in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, a gap driven in part by manufacturing growth in the region.

Davis Y Preschool Gets Grant, Quality Approval

In addition, the preschool has been approved as a one-star Step Up To Quality center.
Since September 2005, the Davis Family YMCA preschool program has provided youth with an opportunity to engage in exercise and learn as it prepared them socially and emotionally for kindergarten, said Adele Taylor, preschool and family director for the Davis Y.
WYSU Fall Fund Drive Seeks $115,000, to Run 72 Hours
