Kent State on Track with 3-Year Degrees
Monday, October 08, 2012KENT, Ohio -- Kent State University has created a selection of accelerated programs redesigned to allow students to graduate with a baccalaureate in three years. The programs are in line with the three-year degree program proposed by Gov. John Kasich and adopted by the Ohio Legislature.
The state requires that this year public universities in Ohio redesign 10% of their baccalaureate programs so they can be completed within three years and expand that number to 60% by 2014.

Business Owners Less Confident about Economy
Friday, October 05, 2012PITTSBURGH – The owners of small and midsized businesses are slightly less optimistic about the health of the regional economy than they were last spring and decidedly more pessimistic about the national economy, finds a new survey by PNC Economic Outlook.
“The economy is in recovery,” PNC economist Mekael Teshome said in a phone interview Thursday. “The wrongs that got us into the [Great] Recession have been righted.” Despite this, many owners of small and midsized businesses lack the confidence that the economy won’t re-enter a recession.
