WYSU Fall Fund Drive Seeks $115,000, to Run 72 Hours
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Listener-supported WYSU-FM, the public radio service at Youngstown State University, will hold its annual Fall Fund Drive Oct. 16 through 19. This fall’s drive has a goal of $115,000.
For the fourth consecutive drive, the on-air portion will last just 72 hours.
Everyone who pledges support to WYSU, whether as a new member, renewing member, or with an additional gift from now to the end of the drive, will be entered in a drawing to win a pair of tickets for the May 2013 WYSU-sponsored Go Ahead Tours 11-day excursion to pre-Columbian Peru and Machu Picchu.
Throughout the drive, the station will also offer daily prize packages, a new-member prize package and a Pennsylvania member prize package, said station manager Gary Sexton.
In addition, because of support from fund drive sponsor IDMI.net, all Web pledges made to 88.5 WYSU FM will qualify for a partial match.
WYSU’s semi-annual fund drives are always critical to the success of the station, Sexton noted, adding that a new transmitter in Ashtabula was added recently.
In addition to the WYSU website, contributions to the drive can be made by phone at 330 941 1481.
