December New-Car Sales Cap Year of Recovery

Ohio Launches Incumbent Workforce Training Program

YSU Seeks Employers for STEM/Business Internships

Foreclosure Rates Drop Slightly in Metro Region
Wednesday, December 26, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Foreclosure rates in Youngstown-Warren-Boardman decreased for the month of October over last year, according to new data from CoreLogic, an economic research organization based in Irvine, Calif. The mortgage delinquincy rate increased during the same period.
The CoreLogic data reveals that the rate of Youngstown-Warren-Boardman area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 4.43% for the month of October, a decrease of 0.25 percentage points compared to October of 2011 when the rate was 4.68%.
Nationwide Appeals Lucarell's $42.8M Verdict
Sunday, December 23, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Accusing Christine Lucarell of perjury and seeking to depose one of her lawyers, Caryn Groedel “as to her involvement in the fraud upon the jury,” Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. seeks to have the $42.8 million verdict in favor of Lucarell set aside and a new trial.
And challenging her expertise, Nationwide also asked that the testimony of the expert witness Groedel brought in on her client’s behalf be thrown out.
Nationwide filed the appeal Dec. 20.
