GM Sales Up 5% in December, 3.7% in 2012
Thursday, January 03, 2013DETROIT – General Motors Co. this morning reported that sales of new cars and trucks increased 5% in December compared to the same period last year, and ended 2012 with a 3.7% gain.
GM said that it recorded its highest December sales in five years with 245,733 new vehicles.
The automaker said total sales for 2012 stood at 2,595,717 compared 2,503,820 sold in 2011.
Among the top-sellers in GM's portfolio during the month was the Lordstown, Ohio-produced Chevrolet Cruze. Cruze sales soared 27.3% compared to the same period last year with 21,230 sold.

Thursday, January 03, 2013CANTON, Ohio -- The Timken Co. has acquired the assets of Wazee Companies LLC, a provider of motor, generator, wind and industrial crane services to diverse end markets.
Wazee, based in Denver, had trailing 12-month sales through December of approximately $30 million. The acquisition brings Timken additional diversified services including motor rewind, generator rebuild, electric controls, industrial bridge cranes and uptower wind maintenance.
Alignment of Curricula Progresses in Region
