Hometown Pharmacy, United Way Tout Vitamin Program
Friday, February 01, 2013BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Children need to be healthy to perform well in school, and Hometown Pharmacy and the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley sought Thursday to call attention to an initiative the local pharmacy launched in March 2011.
The library in Market Street Elementary School served as the backdrop for the press event to raise awareness of Hometown Pharmacy’s program, which offers free multivitamins to children ages 5-12 in 26 school districts.
YSU Students, Volunteers Prepare Income Taxes
Friday, February 01, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Beginning Saturday, qualified students at Youngstown State University and other professional volunteers from the community will prepare income tax forms free of charge under the VITA program.
VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.
Tomorrow’s schedule is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Besides benefiting those who use VITA, the program offers YSU students, mostly majors in accounting or business administration, hands-on experience, says Betty Jo Licata, dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration.

Corbett Says He's Confident Shell Will Build Cracker

Bottom Dollar Food Marks First Year of Operations

That was an option Nicholson and residents of the nearby Idora neighborhood didn't have a year ago, before Bottom Dollar Food opened on the site of the former Cleveland Elementary School and playground.
