Former U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson Dies at 70
Monday, April 15, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Former U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, a Democrat who represented this state’s 6th district two terms, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in a Florida hospital where he had been re-admitted the day before.
Wilson suffered a stroke Feb. 21 while on vacation in Florida and apparently died of complications following that stroke. His family was at his side, several news reports said.
Consol Completes Fracking at Well in North Jackson
Monday, April 15, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Consol Energy reports it has completed hydraulic fracturing at the Cadle well in North Jackson, its first multi-well pad in the Utica shale play.
The first well at the site, designated the company’s MAH 7 pad, was drilled laterally 5,411 feet, Consol says. The second well, the MAH 7C, was drilled 5,290 feet horizontally. The wells “were stimulated in 18 and 16 frac stages, respectively, the company reports. “Both wells are currently shut-in for frac water dissipation and flowback is expected to begin late in the second quarter.”

Greenwood Leads Dealers in March New Vehicle Sales

Monthly statistics released by the association show Greenwood sold 205 vehicles last month, edging Sweeney Chevrolet in Boardman, which sold just seven fewer units, 198.
GasBuddy Reports 13.4-Cent Drop in Prices
Monday, April 15, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Average retail gasoline prices in Ohio fell 13.4 cents per gallon during the past week, averaging $3.36 per gallon Sunday, a daily survey of 5,345 gas outlets in Ohio showed. This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.52 per gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Shell, Williams Launch Midstream Venture in Utica

Three Rivers Midstream, a joint venture between Tulsa-based Williams Partners L.P. and Royal Dutch Shell, says it will develop new infrastructure in northwestern Pennsylvania that includes an initial capital investment to build $150 million cryogenic gas plant capable of processing 200 million cubic feet per day.
