Cortland Bancorp Reports Net Income of $1.3 Million
Thursday, November 01, 2012CORTLAND, Ohio – Cortland Bancorp, holding company of Cortland Banks, Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $1.27 million, or 28 cents per share, and net income for the first nine months of $3.38 million, or 75 cents per share.
This compares to net income for the same quarter a year ago of $1.05 million, or 24 cents a share and for the first nine months of 2011 of $3.24 million, or 72 cents a share.
Net income for the second quarter was $952,000, or 21 cents a share.
First National Bank to Open Branch in Canfield
Thursday, November 01, 2012HERMITAGE, Pa. – First National Bank of Pennsylvania will open a branch in Creekside Place, Canfield, Ohio, Monday, Dec. 3, CEO and President Vincent J. Delie Jr., announced Wednesday.
The office in Canfield will be the fifth in Mahoning County and 14th in northeastern Ohio for First National Bank. Lydia J. Taylor, who recently joined the bank as a vice president, will serve as manager.

Quinnipiac Shows Obama With 5-Point Edge in Ohio
Wednesday, October 31, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – President Obama holds a five-point lead in Ohio, the latest Quinnipiac University/New York Times/CBS News poll finds, but has narrower leads in key swing states Virginia and Florida, where Mitt Romney has gained ground.
The survey, taken Oct. 23-28, shows Obama leading his Republican rival in Ohio 50%-45%, unchanged from Oct. 22. Other recent polls in the state give the Democratic incumbent leads of one to four percentage points, while the most recent Rasmussen Reports pool gives Romney a two-point edge in the state.

Community Health Systems Nets $3.2B for Quarter
Wednesday, October 31, 2012FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Community Health Systems Inc., the parent company of Youngstown-based ValleyCare Health System of Ohio, reports its net operating revenues for the quarter ended Sept. 30 totaled $3.2 billion, up 9% from $2.9 billion for the same three-month period in 2011.
Year-to-date, net operating revenues totaled $9.8 billion, a 9.6% increase compared with $8.9 billion for the first nine months of 2011, according to the results, which were released after close of markets Tuesday.
