Bluegrass, Hilcorp Update Landowners on Projects
Tuesday, October 15, 2013COLUMBIANA, Ohio -- Bluegrass Pipeline LLC's new project slated for early 2015 could bring between 200 and 300 new construction jobs -- and possibly another processing plant -- to the region, officials say.
"We have completed our survey permission process, and right now over the last 12 days, we've been on the ground acquiring rights to easements," said Jim Curry, land right-of-way project manager for Bluegrass.
Reps. Johnson, Kelly Targeted for Shutdown Protests
Tuesday, October 15, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Progressive and labor groups are planning demonstrations today outside district offices of U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-6 Ohio, and U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-3 Pa., to protest what the Ohio AFL-CIO calls “the GOP led government shutdown and lockout of federal government employees.”
“Union workers and allied community groups” will demonstrate at 4 p.m. outside Johnson’s office at 192 E. State St. in Salem, states a media advisory from the AFL-CIO’s Mike Gillis.

Penn National Names GM for Austintown Racino
Monday, October 14, 2013WYOMISSING, Pa. -- Penn National Gaming Inc. today announced it has named Michael Galle as general manager of the new Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course scheduled to open in the second half of 2014. Galle, a 21-year veteran of the gaming industry, has served as the assistant general manager of Hollywood Casino Toledo since June 2011.
Galle will report directly to John Finamore, Penn National Gaming senior vice president of regional operations. His appointment is effective in January, subject to regulatory approvals.
44 Potential Buyers for Bankrupt D&L's Assets
Monday, October 14, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- D&L Energy Inc. says the company it hired to market its assets has received signed confidentially agreements from 44 potential bidders and wants U.S. Bankruptcy Court to approve an auction Nov. 13.
D&L filed for bankruptcy reorganization in April after its employees were caught illegally dumping brine waste into a sewer drain at its Salt Springs Road headquarters, and criminal charges were filed. In court documents, the company stated it owes more than $5.2 million to its 20 largest creditors.
