National Bancshares Reports Record Third Quarter
Friday, October 18, 2013ORRVILLE, Ohio -- National Bancshares Corp., holding company of First National Bank of Orrville, reported record third-quarter net income Thursday of $1.043 million, or 47 cents per share.
This compares to third-quarter net income of $857,000, or 39 cents per share, a year ago and last quarter’s net income of $1.018 million, or 46 cents per share.
Net income for the first nine months also set a record, $3.007 million, or $1.35 per share, the company reported.
Farmers Bank Reclaims Savings and Loan Building

Farmers has a long history with the property, Helmick said. It is reclaiming a building it once owned. In its early years, Farmers National Bank operated in a shared space with sister company Farmers Savings and Loan.
CSX Plans $50M Intermodal Facility in McKees Rocks

Halcon to Drill 2 More at Kibler Pad in Lordstown
Thursday, October 17, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Two horizontal well permits were approved by the Ohio Department of Resources last week for Halcon Resources' Kibler pad in Trumbull County, records show.
They would be the third and fourth wells to be drilled at the Lordstown Township site, just across from the Westwood Lake Park, a mobile home community where residents have complained about drilling operations.
ODNR issued 13 permits last week, according to the agency's website.
Gulfport Says Utica Output Doubles in 3rd Quarter
Thursday, October 17, 2013OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gulfport Energy Corp. reported Wednesday that oil and gas production from its wells in eastern Ohio's Utica shale more than doubled during the third quarter compared to the previous quarter, as gas started to flow from producing wells and into processing complexes.
The company said its net production for the third quarter in the Utica stood at 662,333 barrels of oil equivalent, compared to 320,718 BOE during the second quarter of this year.
No specific well production results were given.
Struthers Credit Union Breaks Ground for Office
Thursday, October 17, 2013STRUTHERS, Ohio -- The Struthers Federal Credit Union broke ground Wednesday evening for the construction of a $650,000 building at the corner of Fifth and Poland avenues in Struthers.
The new headquarters, to be built by The Murphy Contracting Co., Youngstown, will occupy 3,000 square feet and better serve its 3,700 members who live, work, attend school or worship in the Struthers community, reports Linda Krestal, manager. “We’ll be able to have more technology based services. It will take some time to work all the kinks out, but that’s one of our goals,” she says.

The system went live a week ago Friday, and since then hundreds of companies have used the system, Secretary of State Jon Husted said Wednesday.

Howland Company Eyes D&L's Injection Wells

American Water, a division of American Waste Management Inc., Howland, is drilling two wastewater injection wells in Trumbull County and would like to add D&L’s abandoned projects in North Lima and Coitsville Township to that list.
