Halcon to Drill 2 More at Kibler Pad in Lordstown
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Two horizontal well permits were approved by the Ohio Department of Resources last week for Halcon Resources' Kibler pad in Trumbull County, records show.
They would be the third and fourth wells to be drilled at the Lordstown Township site, just across from the Westwood Lake Park, a mobile home community where residents have complained about drilling operations.
ODNR issued 13 permits last week, according to the agency's website.
Eclipse Resources I LP was awarded five permits to drill in Harrison County, Antero Resources secured two permits for wells in Monroe County, Chesapeake Exploration received two permits to drill in Carroll County, Rice Drilling received a single permit for Belmont County, and PDC Energy Inc. was granted one permit for a new well in Washington County.
As of Oct. 12, 927 horizontal permits have been issued in the Utica, of which 577 are drilled. There are 164 wells producing in the Utica, ODNR reports.
No new well permits were issued for Mahoning or Columbiana counties during the week.
In western Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection issued a single well permit to SWEPI LP, a division of Royal Dutch Shell, to drill in Mercer County.SWEPI was awarded a horizontal permit to drill in Lake Township on the Shannon property, records show.
No new permits were issued for Lawrence County, Pa., during the week.
