HMHP Hosts Health-Care Supplier Diversity Event
Monday, March 19, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Humility of Mary Health Partners will host the Northeast Ohio Healthcare Supplier Diversity Event April 24 at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event welcomes minority and women-owned businesses to showcase their products and services, meet with other business owners and learn more about doing business with HMHP.
Sharon Regional Establishes Health Foundation
Wednesday, March 07, 2012SHARON, Pa. -- The Sharon Regional Health System board of directors announced Tuesday the formation of the Sharon Regional Health Foundation, a nonprofit subsidiary that will have a dedicated board comprised of community leaders.
David Grober has been named president and executive director of the foundation. He most recently was vice-president for college advancement at Thiel College in Greenville, and is a lifelong member of the community.
HMHP Hospitals Earn Top Grades for Emergency Medicine
Thursday, February 23, 2012BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Emergency Departments at St. Elizabeth and St. Elizabeth Boardman health centers have won the Top 5% Emergency Department Excellence Designation from HealthGrades. This is the third consecutive year St. Elizabeth has won this distinction from HealthGrades and the second consecutive year for St. Elizabeth Boardman.
HealthGrades identified the nation's top performing hospitals for emergency medical care.
Youngstown Orthopaedic’s Weimer Inducted into Academy
Tuesday, February 21, 2012CANFIELD, Ohio -- David A. Weimer, M.D., of Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Weimer, also a physical therapist who specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement and complex hip and knee revision surgery, was one of 620 new members inducted.
BWC Grants Available for Workplace Wellness Programs
Monday, February 20, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation is accepting applications for the new Workplace Wellness Grant Program. Participating employers will be awarded up to $15,000 over four years to implement wellness programs addressing health risk factors such as obesity and chronic disease.
