BWC Extends Private Employers' Rate Reduction

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Thursday extended the $65 million in rate cuts enacted last year for Ohio’s private sector employers to the 2013 policy year that begins July 1. BWC’s board of directors approved the proposal to maintain the statewide average rate at the current level, therefore maintaining last year’s 4% average rate reduction over the 2011 rates for private employers.
Jameson Health Receives $275,000 from Junior Guild

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Jameson Junior Guild, the volunteer hospital auxiliary of Jameson Health System, has presented health system leadership with $275,000. The funds were generated over the past year at the Guild’s annual spring luncheon at the New Castle Country Club.
This annual contribution will nearly conclude the $1 Million Facelift Pledge the guild initiated three years ago, positioning the donation to be complete nearly two years ahead of schedule.

Resumption of Talks Urged at Trumbull Memorial
Tuesday, May 22, 2012WARREN, Ohio – Under the latest contract proposal issued by Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Donald Bishop says he could lose 36 days to furlough without pay, a provision he argues would have consequences not only on his income, but more important, on the quality of health care here.
"That's 36 days a year that I wouldn't be able to be here and provide the quality care this institution's been built on," said Bishop, a nuclear medicine technician at the hospital nearly 12 years. "That's what I'm most concerned about."
Sharon Regional Health System Auxilliary Raises $110,000

SHARON, Pa. -- The Sharon Regional Health System Auxiliary recently present a check for $110,000 to several members of the system's administrative team. The funds reflect the proceeds from the 2012 Charity Ball on April 21.
