7 Well Permits at Hilcorp's Carbon Limestone Site
Thursday, July 11, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hilcorp Energy Co. is planning to drill two more horizontal oil and gas wells at its Carbon Limestone Landfill site in Poland Township, records show.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued two new permits July 2 for Hilcorp to drill at the site, located on land owned by Republic Services, which operates the landfill. Hilcorp has drilled one well at the site and has permits for six additional wells including the two issued July 2 by ODNR. The company is targeting the Utica/Point Pleasant shale formations in eastern Ohio.
$800 Million Electric Plant Proposed for Carroll County
Wednesday, July 10, 2013CARROLLTON, Ohio -- Carroll County Energy LLC announced today that it intends to construct an $800 million natural-gas fueled electrical plant here that would produce enough electricity to power 700,000 homes.
The company is a subsidiary of Advance Power Services (NA) Inc., an energy development company based in Boston, whose parent is Switzerland-registered Advanced Power AG, which also has offices in London and the Slovak Republic.
Carroll County Energy said the project would create 500 construction jobs and 25 to 30 full-time positions.
More Utica Wells for Trumbull, Columbiana
Saturday, July 06, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- BP America Production Co. plans to develop a new horizontal well targeting the Utica shale in Mecca Township in Trumbull County, records show. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued a new permit June 28 for BP to drill a horizontal well on the Zerovich property in Mecca.
It's BP's third permit and the 10th overall horizontal well permit issued in Trumbull County since last year, according to ODNR data. Brammer Engineering Inc., a firm contracted by BP that initially develops test wells for the company, holds two other permits in the county.
Chesapeake to Get $1B for Texas, Louisiana Assets
Wednesday, July 03, 2013OKLAHOMA CITY -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. announced this morning that is has executed agreements to sell assets in the Texas and Louisiana to EXCO Operating Co. LP a subsidiary of EXCO Resources Inc. for aggregate proceeds of approximately $1 billion, of which approximately 90% will be received upon closing.
MarkWest Consolidates Offices in Washington County, Pa.
Tuesday, July 02, 2013CANONSBURG, Pa. -- MarkWest Energy Partners is consolidating its two offices in southwestern Pennsylvania into one at the Southpointe business park in Washington County.
The Denver-based company is moving 70 employees who oversee its Liberty division into a 30,000-square-foot office building at 4600 J. Barry Court, reports the Pittsburgh Business Times. A spokesman said MarkWest has outgrown two others offices it occupied at Southpointe and on Morganza Road.
MarkWest's Liberty division includes its massive processing plant in Houston, Pa., and three others in West Virginia.
