Halcón Touts Kibler Well, Considers Processing Plant
Friday, August 02, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Halcón Resources is touting its Kibler 1H well in Lordstown, which the Houston company reports “tested at a rate of 2,233 barrels of oil equivalent a day (75% liquids), assuming full ethane recovery, which compares favorably to the other highly productive wells in the play.”
The Kibler well tested better than "all but ten wells across the entire play," said CEO Floyd C. Wilson during a conference call with analysts Thursday. "The test results for the Kibler 1H in Trumbull County and the Allen 1H in Venango County, Pennsylvania were excellent."
Chesapeake's New CEO 'Encouraged' About Utica
Friday, August 02, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Oil and gas production in eastern Ohio's Utica shale increased 48% during the second quarter of 2013 compared to the first quarter of the year, Chesapeake Energy Corp. executives said during a conference call Thursday to discuss financial results for the period.
The Oklahoma City-based energy company reported that net production from its 106 active wells in the Utica averaged approximately 85 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalent per day during the quarter ending June 30.
22nd Well Permit Awarded for Hanover Township
Thursday, August 01, 2013COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has issued a new horizontal well permit to Chesapeake Exploration LLC in Columbiana County, agency records show.
It is the 81st well permitted in county and the 22nd permit issued for Hanover Township, according to the ODNR. The permit was issued July 23 to Chesapeake for a future well at the Frank Zehentbauer farm.
ODNR issued seven new horizontal well permits for oil and gas exploration in the Utica shale last week, the agency reported.
Hanoverton Becomes Crossroads of Utica Shale
