Coalition Urges Voters to Snub Anti-Fracking Petition
Tuesday, July 30, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Members of a coalition composed of business, labor and political leaders today urged residents not to sign a petition supporting a proposed charter amendment that would ban hydraulic fracturing and other oil and gas-related developments in the city.
"This proposed charter is a terrible law," declared Alan Wenger, a partner at Harrington Hoppe and Mitchell in Youngstown and a member of the Mahoning Valley Coalition for Job Growth and Investment. "Having a bad, unenforceable, unconstitutional law takes the eye away from the ball."
Coalition Holds Rally to Counter 'Don’t Frack'
Tuesday, July 30, 2013WARREN, Ohio -- For the first time Monday, the Mahoning Valley Coalition for Job Growth and Investment held a counter-demonstration to rebut opponents of hydraulic fracturing. Some 40 members of the skilled building trades unions lined up on the west side of Mahoning Avenue NW across from Courthouse Square where 200 protesters were conducting their rally, “Don’t Frack Ohio 2.”

Selected to lead the new organization at its inception in late 2009, Klaber will play a key role in the transition and continue to represent MSC over the next several months, the coalition said.
