Halcon Sticking with Its Existing Utica Well Sites
Friday, June 27, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Halcon Resources Corp. hasn't altogether abandoned its holdings in the Utica shale, according to records from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Data provided by the Pennsylvania DEP show that Halcon was awarded a new permit June 20 to drill a new vertical well at the Gallagher property in Greene Township in Mercer County.
Meantime, ODNR issued a permit last week to Halcon so it can complete its Lutz 1H well in Trumbull County in Warren Township, according to the agency's website.

McClendon's AEP Launches Midstream Company
Thursday, June 19, 2014OKLAHOMA CITY -- American Energy Partners LP, along with the Energy & Minerals Group, announced Wednesday the formation of American Energy-Midstream LLC, a company that will develop pipeline and processing networks in shale plays across the country, including the Utica shale in southeastern Ohio.
American Energy, founded by former Chesapeake Energy CEO Aubrey McClendon, and EMG plan to focus on regions where the companies hold active drilling and leasehold operations, American Energy said.
