Rex Issued Its First Permit in Lawrence County, Pa.
Thursday, August 02, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Rex Energy Inc. has been awarded a permit to drill its first horizontal well in Lawrence County, Pa.
Rex Energy, active in Carroll County in eastern Ohio, was awarded a permit to drill a horizontal well in Perry Township, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection records say.
The well is to be drilled on the Hufnagel property; the permit was issued July 27.
Ohioans Split on Health Concerns of Fracking

Chesapeake Floods County Offices with Leases

"I had no idea it was going to be this big," Marchese says. "This is the single largest document ever recorded here."
Well Permits for Columbiana Total 47
Wednesday, July 25, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has issued its 47th horizontal well permit for Columbiana County, according to records.
ODNR issued a permit for Chesapeake Exploration LLC on July 17 to drill into the Point Pleasant shale formation on the Andrulis farm in Center Township. The Point Pleasant formation is considered a part of the broader Utica shale play in eastern Ohio, where energy companies believe there is a vast repository of natural gas liquids.
