Young 2012 Online Registration Ends Today

Young 2012 kicks off Wednesday evening with an industry insider reception and “Casino Night” from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Boardman. Cocktails, heavy appetizers and $100 in “chips” will be provided to each registered attendee to try their hand at roulette, black jack, craps and more. Cost is $25 per person.
Chesapeake Gets New Drill Permit in Columbiana
Friday, August 31, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has issued another new horizontal drilling permit to Chesapeake Exploration LLC for Columbiana County, state records show.
ODNR reported that a horizontal permit was issued to Chesapeake Aug. 23 to drill on the Batzli property in Hanover Township. The Batzli permit is the 50th well permitted in Columbiana County since 2011.
Gulfport Well Outperforms Chesapeake's Buell Well
Wednesday, August 29, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A well that Gulfport Energy Corp. drilled in southern Harrison County is producing more oil, natural gas liquids and dry natural gas combined at peak levels than the Buell well – considered the most productive well in the Utica shale.
During a conference call with analysts to discuss Gulfport's second-quarter earnings report, executives said their company's Wagner 1-28H well was producing at a peak rate of 4,650 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
