More Permits Issued to Hilcorp in Lawrence County
Thursday, November 08, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Three more new permits for horizontal wells have been issued to Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co., in Lawrence County, Pa. records show.
Hilcorp was awarded three permits Nov. 2 that allow it to drill horizontal wells in Mahoning Township, according to new data posted on the website of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
The three new wells are to be drilled in the Utica shale formation on the Leeper property, records show.

Wednesday, November 07, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued four new permits to Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co. to drill horizontal wells in Lawrence County, records show.
All four permits are slated for the Kinkela property in Pulaski Township, according to new permits filed by the DEP. They were issued Oct. 29. The company also has leasehold agreements and drilling permits in North Beaver Township in Lawrence County.

But today horses graze and children play in the shadow of a new, noisy neighbor – an oil derrick that towers 150 feet on land that abuts the backyards of four homeowners, some of whom are concerned about the proximity of the well to their houses and the potential effects on the environment.
Gulfport Releases More Utica Production Results
Monday, November 05, 2012OKLAHOMA CITY – Fresh off the heels of bonanza results from two earlier wells, Gulfport Energy Corp. reports the results of two more oil and gas horizontal wells it operates in eastern Ohio's the Utica shale.
The company reported that its Ryser 1-25H well in Harrison County tested at a peak rate of 2,914 barrels of oil equivalent per day, which breaks down to a daily peak rate of 1,488 barrels of condensate, 5.9 million cubic feet of natural gas, and 649 barrels of natural gas liquids per day.
