Bush and John Kerry is back to a dead heat. Confused?This morning the Reuters/Zogby three-day tracking poll reported that Bush and Kerry are back to 45% apiece -- a three-point decline for the president since Friday's results, when Bush led Kerry, 48% to 44%.But perhaps more telling, according to pollster John Zogby, is who tops the poll when the race is between the Tin Man and the Scarecrow.
Youngstown's WFMJ-TV to Launch WB Affiliate Nov. 1
Monday, October 18, 2004YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Mahoning Valley will have a sixth television station come Nov. 1 when WFMJ-TV is poised to launch an affiliate of the WB Television Network.The new station, WBCB-TV, will be transmitted via digital channel 20B, which means only digital TV sets will be able to receive its over-the-air signals. The station's signal will, however, be transmitted by most cable companies that serve the Mahoning and Shenango valleys, station officials said. Promotional announcements heralding the Nov.
Pennsylvania Liquor Sales Hit New Highs
Monday, October 18, 2004HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Statewide sales for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's 636-store system increased 7.6% in the first quarter from the same period a year ago, officials reported recently. Systemwide first-quarter sales were $277.4 million, $19.5 million ahead of last year's pace.The first quarter growth in fiscal year 2005 follows record sales for FY 2004, which ended on June 29.

Friday, October 15, 2004LAS VEGAS -- As the debate over casino gambling continues in Ohio, a nationwide survey of casino gamblers reveals that 1.54 million Ohio adults gambled at a casino last year."Profile of the American Casino Gambler: Harrah's Survey 2004", released yesterday, reports Ohio gamblers averaged three trips to out-of state casinos during the past 12 months. Detroit/Windsor, Las Vegas, Southern Illinois/Indiana and West Virginia were the most popular gaming destinations for Ohioans, who made more than 4.6 million casino visits in 2003, according to the survey.
