Ford Honors Fred Martin with 3rd President’s Award
Wednesday, June 13, 2012AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Tuesday was a banner day at Fred Martin Ford where the dealership’s owner, Fred Martin, received the prestigious President’s Award from the Ford Motor Co. as he celebrated 40 years in business.
“My heart has always been here with Ford,” Martin said. “I like the way the people treated me. I always thought Youngstown was a good place to be.”
Martin was 31 in June 1972 when he began selling Ford cars. Both father and grandfather owned dealerships – but not Ford dealerships.
YSU Summer Art Festival Set for July 7-8
Monday, June 11, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – More than 70 local, regional and national artists will have their works on display and for sale at the 14th annual Summer Festival of the Arts at Youngstown State University, set for July 7 and 8.
The festival will be held 10 a.m.-7 p.m. July 7 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. July 8. For the second year, the Youngstown Jazz Festival will take place, July 7 at Harrison Common on Walnut Street in Smoky Hollow. YSU, the Mahoning County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the city of Youngstown are collaborating on the events surrounding the weekend.
Model T Fords Coming to Mercer, Lawrence
Monday, June 11, 2012HARLANSBURG, Pa. -- Approximately 25 Model T Fords will visit Mercer and Lawrence counties June 12 as part of the third annual Ocean to Ocean Reunion Tour. Stops include the Harlansburg Station Museum of Transportation, Mercer and Volant.
The stop in Harlansburg will be at about 11 a.m. Model T enthusiasts from as far away as Canada, Virginia, New York and Arkansas will participate, according to Ken Hummel, tour coordinator.
