Chamber Sets Agenda for Supply Chain Event
Monday, June 25, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and Ohio Shale Coalition have set the final agenda for the Shale Industry Supply Chain Seminar, set to take place Wednesday at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, Boardman.
The program is designed to help Mahoning Valley manufacturers and service companies understand criteria required for them to enter into the supply chain and to profit from it.
Shenango Hampton to Hold Opening Event
Friday, June 22, 2012WEST MIDDLESEX. Pa. -- The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce will host an open house and ribbon-cutting Monday at the newly opened Hampton Inn & Suites, located at 58 Winner Lane, off the I-80 interchange.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. for the $6.5 million property, which is owned by Winner Companies, Sharon. Company officials said the project was envisioned by the late entrepreneur James E. Winner Jr. prior to his death in 2010.
Wean Foundation Awards $384,542 in June Grants

Projects range from building children’s skills before entering school to energizing support of the arts as an economic driver and narrowing the skills gap for manufacturing jobs.
Dylan Performance Cements Covelli Centre's Status
Tuesday, June 19, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – If there was any question as to the Covelli Centre's ability to draw some of the most influential acts in the history of popular music to this city, it was answered Monday.
"Last week we got the call," said Eric Ryan, executive director of the arena, referring to yesterday's announcement that music icon Bob Dylan would play the Covelli Centre Aug. 28. "There were some final negotiations and we got it done."
