Streetscape 2004 Set for June 5
Wednesday, June 02, 2004YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Streetscape 2004 "Seeds of Change" will be held from 8 a.m. to noon June 5 in downtown Youngstown. During the 7th annual event, volunteers will beautify the downtown landscape by removing debris, trimming, planting flowers and shrubs and mulching planted areas.Streetscape is a visual improvements project of the Downtown Revitalization Committee. An estimated 200 to 250 volunteers will participate.Focus areas include the West Federal Street median, John Young Memorials, the Front Street/South Avenue corner, City Hall and more.

Business Volunteers Needed for United Way Day Of Caring

A community-wide day of hands-on volunteering, the United Way Day of Caring also serves as the kick-off of the annual United Way campaign. The Youngstown/Mahoning Valley United Way Day of Caring is an annual community-wide service project in which volunteers from local businesses participate by completing tasks, odd jobs, and organizing activities for United Way agencies.
Minority Shareholder Acquires Shelton Mathews Chocolates

Mathews, a retired professor of marketing at Youngstown State University, and Jeffrey T. Stover, a medical doctor, today announced the change in ownership. Prior to acquiring the company, Stover, a minority shareholder, had served as Shelton-Mathews' vice president and secretary.Mathews founded the company, which manufactures European style chocolates, in 1991.
H & H Contracting Completes Two More Hollister Stores
Wednesday, June 02, 2004NILES, Ohio -- H & H Contracting Co. has completed construction of two new Hollister Co. stores in Louisville, Ky., and Mansfield, Ohio, and continues to expand its work in Texas and other states, reports Chris Hoff, co-owner.Completion of the Louisville and Mansfield stores brings to 19 the total of Hollister stores built since 2000 by H & H Contracting. H & H also has five additional Hollister stores in progress in Austin, San Antonio and Loredo, Texas; Flint, Mich.; and Waterford, Conn.

Revenues Increase 3% at Cedar Fair
Wednesday, June 02, 2004SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Fair L.P., a publicly traded partnership which owns and operates seven amusement parks and five water parks including Cedar Point, reports that combined revenues at its parks through the first five months of the year were up approximately 3% from last year. This increase was the result of an increase in average in- park guest per capita spending, a slight increase in out-of-park revenues, including resort hotels. CEO Survey Shows Continued Strengthening of Business Conditions
Wednesday, June 02, 2004WASHINGTON -- Business Roundtable's June 2004 CEO Economic Outlook Survey shows that America's leading chief executives expect continued strengthening of the U.S. economy, with projections for an increase in hiring plans, further gains in capital spending and a still-high level of expected sales."America's CEOs believe that the U.S. economy will continue to strengthen steadily over the next six months," said Hank McKinnell, chairman of Business Roundtable and chairman and CEO of Pfizer Inc.
