Ohio Voters Can Change Their Addresses Online
Wednesday, August 15, 2012COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Secretary of State Jon Husted has launched a new online service that allows registered voters in Ohio to update their voting address online. The service was designed to help voters be registered where they reside 30 days before an election.
The most common reason voters cast a provisional ballot on Election Day is they have not updated their address when they move. Provisional voters’ ballots must be verified for eligibility in the days following an election before they can be included in the official tally.
Solar FlexRack Chosen for Carpool Parking Lot

Grant Funds Training Welders for Shale Industry
Tuesday, August 14, 2012BOARDMAN, Ohio – It wasn't your typical ribbon-cutting ceremony, particularly since there was no ribbon.
Instead, officials used a more appropriate material: a six-foot long steel pipe they cut into sections to celebrate an award of $130,530 in grant money for the training of a new generation of welders for the oil and gas industry.
“The best thing is that it is to get welders in this industry,” said Butch Taylor, president of Local 396 of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. "It's to give them the ability get into downhill welding or out on the job sites."
Quaker Steak to Open 11 Restaurants This Year
Tuesday, August 14, 2012SHARON, Pa. -- Quaker Steak & Lube has opened a casual dining franchise in Lakewood, Ohio, its 50th restaurant, says John Longstreet, president and CEO. The company is on track to open 10 additional restaurants this year, he says.
The restaurant chain will expand to six new markets with five franchise groups over the next several years, Longstreet says.
Area Auto Dealers See Sales Jump 5.5% in July
Tuesday, August 14, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Auto dealers in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties saw an increase in sales during July, according to the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio's monthly report.
Auto dealers in the region reported sales of new cars and trucks during the month were 5.5% higher than a year earlier, as showrooms sold 2,110 vehicles versus 1,999 in July 2011.
Sales of new and used vehicles were also slightly better than the previous year, as dealers posted combined sales of 5,392 vehicles compared to 5,179 in July 2011, a 4% increase.
