Foreclosure Inventory Falls 29% Since May 2012
Wednesday, July 10, 2013IRVINE, Calif. -- There were 52,000 completed foreclosures in the United States in May, down from 71,000 in May 2012, CoreLogic reported Tuesday. The residential shadow inventory, also known as pending supply, as of April was below two million units, representing a supply of 5.3 months.
The shadow inventory has fallen 34% from its peak in 2010 when it reached three million homes and down 18% from a year ago, when it stood at 2.4 million.
Food Donations Earn Free Wings at Quaker Steak

Ohio EPA Samples Water in Mahoning Watershed
Wednesday, July 10, 2013COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is collecting water samples in the lower Mahoning River basin to gather information that will be part of a plan to maintain and, where necessary, restore the quality of the river and its tributaries, the state EPA has announced.
The watershed lies in northeastern Ohio and crosses the Ohio-Pennsylvania border; Youngstown, Warren and Lordstown are major municipalities in the watershed.

Jobs, Payroll Rise at New-Car Dealerships
Tuesday, July 09, 2013McLEAN, Va. -- As the U.S. economy recovers and auto sales increase, employment at franchised new-car dealerships continued to rise in 2012, the National Automobile Dealers Association reports, up 3.2% from 2011. Total employment at new-car dealerships increased to 963,400 employees, up from 933,500 in 2011.
The average number of employees per dealership rose to 55 from 53, NADA said. It also reported a net increase of 95 franchised dealerships, bringing the total to 17,635 at the end of 2012.
