Ron Roman of George Roman Auctioneers Ltd., Canfield, conducted two quick sheriff’s sales for the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas Thursday afternoon, both buyers intending to reclaim and renew the abandoned and dilapidated properties, one in Boardman, the other in Austintown.
Passenger Service Surges at Youngstown-Warren Airport
Friday, July 12, 2013WARREN, Ohio -- June was a banner month at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport as 12,456 passengers passed though the terminal, Dan Dickten reported Thursday. This is the largest passenger count since June 1992, he said, when 12,357 passengers flew into and out of the airport.
Dickten is the director of aviation for the Western Reserve Port Authority.

Sister Jerome Gets Grant for College Mission Project

“This St. Ann Legacy grant will provide welcome help for our minority college students, who urgently need groceries and shoes, textbooks and gas cards, even repair of their car, if they have one,” states Sister Jerome. “The need is so great and the students work so hard that now they are seeing graduation more surely in their future.”

F.N.B. Corp. to Open Regional HQs in Cleveland
Thursday, July 11, 2013HERMITAGE, Pa. -- First National Bank of Pennsylvania will establish a regional headquarters in downtown Cleveland and move into offices in the 55 Public Square building there sometime in the fourth quarter, Vincent J. Delie Jr. announced today. Delie is the president and CEO of F.N.B. Corp., parent of First National Bank.
First National Bank will have a full-service office on the first floor of the building and have its offices on the 14th.
7 Well Permits at Hilcorp's Carbon Limestone Site
Thursday, July 11, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hilcorp Energy Co. is planning to drill two more horizontal oil and gas wells at its Carbon Limestone Landfill site in Poland Township, records show.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued two new permits July 2 for Hilcorp to drill at the site, located on land owned by Republic Services, which operates the landfill. Hilcorp has drilled one well at the site and has permits for six additional wells including the two issued July 2 by ODNR. The company is targeting the Utica/Point Pleasant shale formations in eastern Ohio.
ODOT Staff Spreads Word on US 224, I-680 Construction
Thursday, July 11, 2013BOARDMAN, Ohio -- The Ohio Department of Transportation has put on its game face as it goes the extra mile -- on foot, no less -- to allay the fears and concerns of stores and employers whose customers and workforces use the exit ramps to U.S. 224 from Interstate 680.
Two ODOT employees, public information officers Brent Kovacs and Justin Chesnic, Wednesday stopped in shops and offices within a mile radius of the heavily used interchange. The westbound exit empties into 224 just a few feet east of Tiffany Boulevard North.
