The new hires will be funded using a $127,937 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, announced Wednesday by U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13 Ohio.

Valley Car Buyers Lift Cruze Sales 72% During June
Wednesday, July 10, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Mahoning Valley carbuyers flocked to the Chevrolet Cruze last month, as volume sales of the Lordstown-built small car topped all other new models sold in local showrooms during June.
Sales of the Cruze soared 72% during the month compared to the same period a year ago, according to the monthly report compiled by the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio.
Dealers reported they collectively sold 164 new Cruze units in June compared to just 95 sold a year ago.
$800 Million Electric Plant Proposed for Carroll County
Wednesday, July 10, 2013CARROLLTON, Ohio -- Carroll County Energy LLC announced today that it intends to construct an $800 million natural-gas fueled electrical plant here that would produce enough electricity to power 700,000 homes.
The company is a subsidiary of Advance Power Services (NA) Inc., an energy development company based in Boston, whose parent is Switzerland-registered Advanced Power AG, which also has offices in London and the Slovak Republic.
Carroll County Energy said the project would create 500 construction jobs and 25 to 30 full-time positions.
Regulators Lift UCFC's Cease and Desist Order
Wednesday, July 10, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- United Community Financial Corp., the holding company of The Home Savings and Loan Company, announced today that the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland has terminated UCFC's Cease and Desist Order effective July 2.
The order had been in effect since Aug. 8, 2008.

Patrick W. Bevack, president and CEO of UCFC and Home Savings, in a prepared statement.
Northside Expansion to Fill Emergency Department Need
Wednesday, July 10, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- In the boardroom at Northside Medical Center, there's a divot in the table where Neal Tishman says he has pounded his fist for years as he pleaded for a new emergency department.
That day came closer to arriving Tuesday with the groundbreaking for a 30,000-square-foot tower to be added to the Northside campus. The $20 million project, which will also involve modernization of 28,000 square feet of existing space in the hospital, will result in long-needed emergency department upgrades.
