Former Chesapeake Exec Heads Marcellus Coalition
Wednesday, October 23, 2013PITTSBURGH -- The Marcellus Shale Coalition has named David Spigelmyer as the organization's president. Spigelmyer, formerly vice president of Chesapeake Energy Corp.'s Appalachia division, assumed the position Monday. He replaces Kathryn Klaber.
Spigelmyer's selection followed a two-month search process, says the coalition's chairman, Randy Albert, Consol Energy's COO of gas operations.

Devon, Crosstex Energy to Combine Midstream Assets
Monday, October 21, 2013YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Devon Energy Corp. and Crosstex Energy Inc., based in Dallas, announced Monday theyhave signed definitive agreements to combine substantially all of Devon’s U.S. midstream assets with Crosstex’s assets to form a new midstream partnership. The new business will consist of two publicly traded entities: the master limited partnership and a general partner entity.
Devon, based in Oklahoma City, will hold a controlling stake in both entities. The new company will be based in Dallas.
