Railroads Ready for Utica Shale Midstream Hauling
Monday, September 10, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Executives of national and regional railroad companies say they have a role to play as oil and gas companies develop the Utica shale in Eastern Ohio.
Many of these big energy companies that have entered the region are still trying to define the play and are just beginning to map and build the pipelines needed to take their products to markets across the country.
Meantime, railroads have a robust infrastructure in place and are ready to handle the heavy loads of materials and products to and from the well sites, executives say.
Consol Gets Permit to Drill Well in Jackson Township
Monday, September 10, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – CNX Gas Co. LLC, a division of Pittsburgh-based Consol Energy, is looking to drill another horizontal well in Mahoning County, according to new permits released by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
ODNR issued a permit Aug. 29 for CNX to drill in Jackson Township on the Cadle property just east of South Bailey Road and south of the Youngstown Commerce Park, state records say. ODNR status reports indicate drilling has begun at the site.
NiSource Processor Slated for Mahoning County
Friday, September 07, 2012YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A $300 million pipeline project extending from Columbiana County northward into western Pennsylvania calls for construction of a new processing plant somewhere in eastern Mahoning County, according to a presentation at the Youngstown Ohio Utica and Natural Gas Conference and Expo Thursday.
