First Place Reports Net Income Drops in Fiscal '04
Friday, July 30, 2004WARREN, Ohio -- First Place Financial Corp. reported net income was down $2.5 million for the 2004 fiscal year from the previous year, due largely to its acquisition of Franklin Bancorp Inc. During what Steven R. Lewis, president and chief executive officer, described as "an extraordinarily productive year," First Place reported net income for the fiscal year ended June 30 of $14.2 million compared with $16.7 million reported for fiscal year 2003. Diluted earnings per share were $1.09 compared to $1.29 reported last year.

Thursday, July 29, 2004NILES, Ohio -- A Los Angeles film company has found the "good stuff" in the Mahoning Valley to produce a new television spot for Pizza Hut.Reactor Films is in Niles today to film a commercial at the newly constructed Pizza Hut Bistro on Route 422 in Niles, according to the Western Reserve Film Commission. Richard Ouzounian, who founded the film commission last year, said Reactor Films contacted his office for help from local businesses with lodging, catering and other services the production crew would need during filming.
