SVIDC Transfers Administrative Duties to Penn Northwest
Monday, January 03, 2005"SHARON, Pa. -- The Shenango Valley Industrial Development Corp. has entered into an administrative services agreement with the Penn Northwest Development Corp. through which all administrative activity, including management of its PA Industrial Development Authority, loan portfolio, general administrative and accounting functions, and continued work on various projects will be transferred to Penn Northwest, officials announced yesterday.

Current board member Samuel A. Roth has been elected the new chairman.Patrick is leaving his position to concentrate on his law practice and pursue other business interests and will remain a board member until June 30.Patrick has been chairman of the board of First Place Financial Corporation and First Place Bank since 2000. Former Ohio Edison Manager Charged with Mail Fraud
Monday, January 03, 2005"CLEVELAND -- A former Warren area manager for Ohio Edison, Gregory G. Petrasek, today was accused of devising a scheme with an unnamed Warren city official to defraud Erie Insurance Group, Avalon South Golf Club and Ohio Edison.Petrasek was charged with one count of mail fraud. The charge, announced late this afternoon by the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, was filed by information, which means Petrasek was not indicted by a grand jury and is likely cooperating with investigators.

Monday, January 03, 2005HOUSTON -- Baard Energy LLC is in the preliminary stages of development for the possible construction of a $1.5 billion, 1,200-megawatt integrated gasification combined-cycle plant to be located in Ashtabula, Ohio, according to a report released today by Industrial Information Resources Inc.Coal gasification is a process that converts solid coal into a synthetic gas, composed primarily of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Coal can be gasified in various ways by properly controlling the mix of coal, oxygen and steam within the gasifier.
