Youngstown Is Test Market for Arby's 'All Chicken Chicken'
"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- You may have seen the TV commercials touting Arby's new "All Chicken Chicken" products. But you may not know that Youngstown is one of four U.S. markets in which the products are being tested.The new products, made with 100% all natural chicken that is not altered or injected with added water, salt or phosphates, will be available in Youngstown-area Arby's beginning this month, according to Doug Benham, president and chief executive officer. The company is looking to launch All Chicken Chicken system-wide mid-year pending the results of the tests, he said, noting that other test markets include Detroit, Jacksonville, Fla., and Charleston, S.C.Arby's is the first and only quick-service restaurant with a complete line made of 100 percent all natural chicken menu items, Benham said, noting that other fast food companies offer chicken breast sandwiches with added rib meat, and up to 27.1% of solutions made of various elements including water, seasoning (salt, spices and spice extractive) oil, modified food starch, and sodium phosphates. Arby's is supporting the product launch test with local television, radio and print advertising as well as outdoor banners, in-store signage and point of purchase displays in its restaurants, Benham said.Arby's services more than 3,450 franchised restaurants in 48 states and four countries and has systemwide sales of over $2.7 billion.
